Cat Colors


Cats and kittens come in a variety of colors. Typically ginger, brown, black, grey and white. A cat's fur can be a single color, bi-color or tri-color.

Cat Patterns

Solids
Cats that are one color and do not have any stripes.
Tabbies
Cats with tabby markings in four possible patterns; Mackerel (thin stripes), Classic (wide stripes), Spotted or Ticked (bands of color on individual hairs).
Tortoiseshells
Usually females, these cats are a mixture of both black and orange, and also white in the case of Calicos.
Points
Darker color on the face, feet, ears and tail.
