The Sphynx cat is a breed famous for its seemingly hairless appearance. It was developed through selective breeding beginning in the 1960s. The Sphynx cat is in fact not truly hairless, their coat has very fine hairs. Their skin is the color that their fur would have been, and all the usual cat color patterns may be present on their skin. Sphynx cats have a muscular body and neck, large ears and thick paw pads.
Sphynx cats are known for being extremely lively and extroverted. They are often friendly when meeting strangers and greet their owners at the door.
