Selkirk Rex Cat
The Selkirk Rex cat has thick, curly hair, which is the result of a dominent gene. The breed originated in Montana in the US in 1987, from a litter born to a rescued cat. The curly haired kitten was later bred with a black Persian male cat, producing a number of Selkirk Rex kittens. Unlike the Devon Rex and Cornish Rex, their coat is of normal length and not partly missing. The Selkirk Rex cat comes in both long and short-hair varieties.
Selkirk Rex cats are affectionate and people-oriented. They don't do well when kept in isolation.
