Breed Appearance

The Bombay cat has short hair and a sleek, satin black coat. The Bombay cat was bred in America in the 1950s to emulate the appearance of the black panther. This was achieved by breeding a sable Burmese with a solid black American Shorthair.

Breed Behaviour

Bombay cats are reportedly intelligent and curious. Cats who love to play, yet are gentle and sociable. They tend to be less vocal than Oriental breeds.
